Mountain Man Rendezvous And Sutler's Row
Dramatizing the "rough and tough" life
of the early explorers and trappers of the American West, the
Rendezvous and Mountain Man
Encampment demonstrates life in the early 1800's. Living in
authentic lodges, tents and teepees, these exhibitors are dressed in
traditional buckskin garb. The rugged mountain man (and Mountain
woman) will demonstrate crafts and the survival skills necessary during
the era of the fur trapper. But life wasn't all "work or die," as
shown by mountain man games where contestants demonstrate the hawk and
knife throws, frying pan throw and other skillful games.
Suttler"s Row is reminiscent of the trade
camps of
the Fur Trade Era. See trader's tents with wares typical of the
early
1800's including furs, beads, clothing, leather and other goods.
